      Leica Store Miami is proud to offer this one-day digital printing workshop in partnership with Epson, the Miami Photo Center and Image Pro International. This workshop will take you through the process of creating high-quality digital prints from start to finish. Your instructor Tony Chirinos will give you all the basic knowledge you need to achieve your goal. Topics covered include: what makes a good print vs a bad print, selecting the right printer for your photograph, creating a printing workflow, how to print from Photoshop and Lightroom, prepping the image for printing, sizing and sharpening and finally selecting the right paper for your print.

      In the second part of the workshop we will get hands on and you will start printing your best image(s) on Epson’s latest wide format printers using some of the best photo paper on the market (the paper is included in the cost of this workshop).

      This workshop which requires you to have a basic knowledge of photography. If you need help with the basics, we recommend you take Miami Photo Center's Basic Digital Photo Workshop and Introduction to Lightroom Workshop first. 

    • About the instructor: Tony Chirinos

      Tony Chirinos received a MFA from Columbia University in New York. Trained as a Bio-medical photographer in 1985, later in 1989 Mr. Chirinos created the Medical photography department at Baptist Health Systems in which he worked as the Director until his departure in 2001. Mr. Chirinos is a Fellow of the South Florida Cultural Consortium. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. His series Cocks has been featured in under Photographer’s Showcase®, Tony Chirinos was among 100 photographers that participated in Review Santa Fe 2012, and in the Fourth Annual New York Portfolio Review sponsored by New York Times Lens blog. His work has been collected by Indie Photobook Library, Candela Collection, CPW, Light Work, Photographic Center Northwest, and Cuban American Phototheque Foundation, to name a few. Mr. Chirinos is currently an Associate Senior Professor at Miami Dade College Kendall Campus in Miami Florida, he has been teaching photography since 2003.

        • Selecting the right printer for your photographic goals

        • Prepping the image for printing
        • Sizing and Sharpening

      Recommend Items to Bring:

      • At least 5 of your own images on a jump drive or SD card should you wish to make a print of your own work.

    • This workshop fee is $249. Early registration pricing of $199 until 11/30/18. Enrollment is limited to 16 participants. The workshop fee includes digital printing instruction, the use of fine art paper as well as at least one fine art digital print to take home.

      We rely on your attendance to make this workshop happen, so if for any reason you need to withdraw from this workshop please inform us no later than 10 days before (which is January 3, 2019). If you need to cancel after this date, your workshop fee is only refunded if we are able to fill your spot with another participant.
