• This lens brings apochromatic correction to the 100 mm focal length and also to the macro range. The optical constructions is complex with eight elements in six groups and may be regarded as two separate lenses. The front six elements form a typical unsymmetrical double Gauss layout which move during focusing. The rear two elements are fixed. The performance in resolution of fine detail and flatness of field is maintained throughout the focusing range, which extends down to a reproduction ration of 1:2. The special Elpro near focusing attachment provided for this lens extends the near range and the performance down to 1:1.

The rubber used on the zoom ring is lightly faded, but still very tactile. The aperture ring has nice defined positive detents. The glass is clear and free of scratches, haze, fungus and dust. A recent CLA has been completed by DAG Camera. The work performed was to clean, lubricate, and adjust all parts for proper working order. Overall, this lens is in excellent condition.
