• In 2012, Leica decided to be the only manufacturer in the world to launch a full frame camera with a dedicated black-and-white sensor: the Leica M Monochrom. Today, in the eleventh year of the Monochrom success story and with a wealth of experience from almost 70 years of designing and manufacturing Leica rangefinder cameras, Leica Camera AG introduces the fourth generation with a black-and-white sensor: The new Leica M11 Monochrom.
  

  With its multi-resolution full-frame BSI CMOS sensor exclusively developed with the high demands of tomorrow’s creators in mind, the M11 Monochrom provides extraordinary black-and-white images. Raw files in the DNG format or JPEGs with a resolution of either 60, 36 or 18 megapixels can be created at anytime when shooting in the field and without loss in performance when selecting the lower resolution options.
  

  With an all-metal body and a top plate made of high-quality aluminum, a sapphire glass display, solid leatherette covering as well as a black, scratch-resistant finish, the M11 Monochrom presents itself in a timeless and unobtrusive M design. Details such as the deliberate omission of the Leica logo and the dark chrome-plated coating of the optical viewfinder underline the reduced, iconic design of the new addition to the legendary Leica M family.

  "Messsucher", the "M" in the Leica M System, is a term describing the combination of rangefinder and viewfinder. True to the M legacy, the M11 Mono maintains the classic form, control placement, and durability of its predecessors. Through a bright, oversized viewfinder the photographer can approach subjects with greater context and manual focusing flexibility. Without the finder blackout of traditional SLR cameras, shooting with the M11 Mono allows users not only to capture the precise moment, but to truly experience it as well. Powerful yet highly portable, the Leica M11 iMono s a precise photographic tool designed for discerning photographers and imaging professionals everywhere.
