To celebrate the millennium in the year 2000, Leica Camera launched a number of special editions finished in their legendary glossy black paint. Amongst them was the lens featured here: the Leica Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 Black Paint Pre-ASPH Millennium Edition.
With only 2,000 lenses produced, this rare and lovely lens is one of the most desirable collectible lenses from the 2000s era. The lens features a barrel constructed from brass and painted in black paint, and a knurled focusing ring as a callback to Leica's earlier versions of the Summilux-M 50mm. The feet distance scale as well as focal length marking on the lens are finished in red.
This lens is in mint condition, and complete as new with the box, packaging, all paperwork, Leica leather lens case, front lens cap, and rear lens cap. Additionally, it was sent to Leica Customer Care for a full service in August of 2023, to ensure it is in perfect working order.
