• This high-speed lens is the most compact of Leica M lenses, and was introduced in 2006. By using an aspherical element it was possible to attain top imaging performance with a weight of only 180 grams. This lens is practically distortion-free down to the close focus range of 0.7 m and only protrudes slightly into the viewfinder field of M cameras. It makes a great general-purpose travel lens.

  This particular lens is clean but shows signs of normal use.  The focusing ring moves very smoothly with nice drag. The aperture ring moves freely with positive detents. The glass is clear and free of scratches, haze, fungus and dust. Service has been completed recently by Leica. The work performed was to replace bayonet ring with 6-bit coded ring, and clean, lubricate, and adjust all parts for proper working order.
