In the year 2000, Leica Camera introduced the M6 TTL 0.72, black paint "Millennium Edition". Limited to 2,000 cameras for the worldwide market, the Millennium Edition featured brass top and bottom plates, finished in Leica's iconic glossy black paint. All were offered with a 0.72 magnification viewfinder. The top plate was engraved with the serial number and the Leica script logo, and the camera's edition number was engraved on the hot shoe. The camera's rewind knob is the classic M3/MP style, as is the all-metal black paint film advance lever. The strap lugs are painted black as well and the frame counter window is black with white writing. But that's not what we have here!
Featured here is a rarely-seen subvariant of the Millennium Edition: the NSH Edition Japan. Only 400 were produced, and only for the Japanese market. Unlike the "standard" Millennium Edition, the NSH Edition features a 0.85 viewfinder, and has both its serial number and edition number engraved on the hot shoe. NSH stands for "Nihon SiberHegner" who was the importer of Leica products for Japan in 2000. All other features are identical to the Millennium Edition.
This particular camera is numbered 374 out of 400. It has some light signs of normal use, and was fully overhauled by Leica Customer Care, including upgrading the viewfinder to the MP version with flare-resistant optics. It's covered under Leica warranty until September of 2025.
The camera is complete as new, with the original boxes, packaging, paperwork (including the signed certificate of authenticity), and accessories. This is a rare opportunity to own a gorgeous and obscure special edition Leica, that's been fully overhauled and has just enough use on it so it can be used without fear of a mark or scratch.
