• The first choice for photo journalists and travelers, this versatile all-around lens delivers phenomenal overall image quality.  The lens turns any Leica M camera into a highly compact and elegant unit, allowing the photographer to shoot discreetly, without drawing attention.  The lens production was split during the lifespan of this lens.  From 1979-1988 the lenses were made in Canada.  From 1987-1996 the lenses were made in Germany.  

  This particular lens is the fourth version of the 35mm Summicron set and was made in Canada.  The lens has a seven-element layout, the extra element being placed in front of the second cemented pair behind the diaphragm. The light-weight lens only accepts 39mm filters.

  This lens would be a great addition to your M-System. The lens is clean with  signs of normal use. The focusing ring moves very smoothly with nice drag. The aperture ring moves freely with positive detents. The glass is clear and free of scratches, haze, fungus, and dust.

  Service has been completed recently by Leica. The work performed was to add 6-bit coding, tightened aperture, tune focus, polish elements, and clean, lubricate, and adjust all parts for proper working order.
