• The Vario-Elmar-R 21-35mm was first introduced back in 2002.  The optical design consists of two systems, with nine elements in eight groups.  Focusing is done by the first system, while adjustment of focal length is achieved by movement of both systems toward (35 mm) or away form one another (21 mm).  The front control ring sets the focus and the rear control ring sets the focal length.  There are two aspherical surfaces and two elements of highly refractive glass and two with anomalous partial dispersion.

The glass is clear and free from haze, fungus and scratches. Service has been completed by DAG Camera. The work performed was to clean, lubricate, and adjust all parts for proper working order.
