In the spring of 2012, Leica shocked the photographic world with the introduction of a camera that could shoot only in black and white: the Leica M Monochrom. What initially seemed like a bold experiment quickly proved to be something much more significant. Photographers discovered that by eliminating the color filter array entirely, Leica had created a digital camera capable of delivering a uniquely pure monochrome image unlike anything else on the market.

Over the years, Leica refined the concept through successive generations, culminating in the remarkably capable M11 Monochrom. Yet despite the advances of newer models, the original M Monochrom has retained a special place in the hearts of Leica enthusiasts, earning a near-cult following over the past fourteen years. Many still regard its CCD sensor as possessing a distinctive character and tonal rendering that has never been fully replicated.

In preparation for its next owner, the camera was recently sent to Leica Customer Care in New Jersey for a comprehensive overhaul and has just returned with a one-year Leica warranty. Cosmetically, it remains in excellent condition with only light signs of normal use. Just as importantly, it is 100% complete as originally delivered, including all boxes, packaging, paperwork, and accessories.
