In 2005, The Leica Historical Society collaborated with Leica Camera to commemorate the original Leica MP by introducing the Leica MP3 LHSA Special Edition, a set comprised of the Leica MP3 camera, Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH lens and Leicavit winder. Only 1,000 examples were manufactured, with 500 in black paint and 500 in silver chrome. The MP3 was sold as a set, but some cameras and lenses were also sold individually, in their own boxes. Offered here is one of the lenses that was sold separately, and they have proven to be rare finds as of late. The lens barrel is constructed from solid brass and features a knurled focusing ring and clip-on metal lens shade, paying homage to the original Summilux-M 50mm lens from the 1960s. The LHSA logo is engraved near the lens mount.

Condition: This one-owner lens is in excellent condition. There is a very small, hairline mark on the underside of the lens barrel about 3mm in length, but otherwise no marks, scratches, or scuffs on the barrel or glass.
