Adam Barkan
Adam Barkan is originally from New York but has been living in the Magic City for 20 years and loves documenting its rich heritage and many cultural influences.
Adam’s love for photography began early on in his childhood. He would spend countless hours exploring his dad’s camera store, fascinated by the different cameras, lenses, and accessories. He's brought that passion to our team at Leica Store Miami, where he's worked since 2021.
When he's not at the store, you can find him at the gym, travelling with his wife, or providing multimedia services for local Non-Profits.

A Leica special edition that I fantasize about...
The M10-P Reporter. When I think of Leica M the first thing that comes to mind is "The Decisive Moment" Cartier Bresson's image of a man suspended in mid-air as he leaps over a large puddle. In addition, some of the most iconic images taken in the 20th century were taken with the M camera. The M10-P "Reporter" pays homage to this tradition and there's just something special about that dark green finish black aramid fiber wrapping.
The camera bag I swear by…
The ThinkTank Retrospective 7 V2. What I like most, is that this bag is discreet, lightweight, and comfortable to carry wherever I go.
The carrying strap that changed my life...
The Artisan & Artist* 312N Silk Neck Strap - Red. It’s soft, lightweight, and can be easily wrapped around my wrist when I don’t want to carry the camera around my neck. Most importantly, it’s red and black.
If I’m traveling light, I’ll bring…
The Q3 with an Artisan & Artist ACAM 76 Canvas Wrap, extra memory cards, and a battery power bank.
My favorite photo book…
Graciela Iturbide: Heliotropo 37. Graciela Iturbide's style is distinctive. Her photos are iconic, timeless, and have a profound cultural and social impact. This book explores and exemplifies her ability to capture the essence of Mexico, revealing its rich traditions, indigenous cultures, and everyday life. I also believe that her ability to blend artistic composition with profound storytelling has made her a revered figure in the world of photography.
