Grigoriy Yaroshenko
Grigoriy Yaroshenko's work explores subjects of isolated communities, institutions and places, where past and present interlace. He talked about some of the projects from the last decade including: Trench (2013), award-winning series which portrays Uzbekistani migrant workers and their life in Moscow and Uzbekistan; Norilsk (2015), a grim portrait of a city that was founded as a site for forced-labour - the center of the Norillag system of Gulag labor camps; ЖД the Iron Road (2018), a year long travel through Russia that captures remote landscapes and people whose life is connected to the railways and Ice (2019), a portrait of Antarctica which focuses on the daily life of polar explorers.
