Josh Lehrer has been with Leica Store Miami since early 2010, beginning his Leica journey less than a year after graduating from RIT with a photography degree. Since then, he’s developed a strong passion for Leica collectibles, using vintage glass on modern cameras, and memorizing Leica part numbers. When he’s not chasing supercars around, you’ll find him co-hosting Red Dot Forum Camera Talk on YouTube.

My favorite thing that nobody knows about…

I love using the silver version of the Leica M-Adapter-L. It makes it really easy at a quick glance to see when an M lens has the adapter attached, and the contrasting color looks great on an SL body..

A Leica special edition that I fantasize about...

The Leica M10-P Bold Grey is stunning and I’ll always regret that I didn’t keep one. The red shutter button is the literal cherry on top of one of Leica’s most beautiful digital M bodies.

Most popular lens in my Lightroom Catalog...

Without question there’s no lens I use more than the Leica APO-Vario-Elmarit-SL 90-280mm f/2.8-4. For my automotive photography as well as landscape work, nothing beats that lens’ compression and incredible wide-open performance.

The camera bag I swear by...

Without a doubt the Oberwerth Louis M11 Visoflex Leather Camera Bag is my favorite bag at the moment – not surprising since I helped design it! It fits an M system or smaller SL kit beautifully.

My camera always wears...

I’ve always got a circular polarizer on my lens. My two most used are the Leica E82 Circular Polarizer and the Breakthrough Photography 67mm X4 Circular Polarizer.

Color or Black & White?

For me, color is almost always my preference. What I get out of the Leica SL2-S is magical, especially with vintage M glass.

If I’m traveling light, I’ll bring…

The SL2-S with the Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-70mm f/2.8 ASPH. I can do almost anything with it, and it fits in even my smallest camera bags.

My favorite place to shoot...

The Miami Design District Concours. It’s my favorite automotive event and getting there at sunrise always makes for fantastic images. I go every year and bring a different camera setup each time.
