My favorite place to shoot...

I just got back from our Paris Street Photography workshop, and, wow! I’m in love. Every photo I took in Paris looks like it could have been taken yesterday or 50 years ago. The people, the architecture - it’s just all so timeless, especially through the lens of a Monochrom.

The camera bag I swear by…

The Oberwerth Kate. Heck, I did a whole video review about it. I could go on forever about this bag. It’s really the most versatile and well-made camera bag I’ve ever owned. I’ve had it over six years now and have really put it through the ringer, and it’s held up impressively.

A Leica special edition that I fantasize about…

As a typographer and paper nerd, the Leica X2 Paper Skin by Fedrigoni will always hold a special place in my heart. A specially-produced “Constellation Jade” paper replaced the leatherette and the packaging was a thing of beauty. Only 25 were ever made.

My favorite thing that nobody knows about…

Using the Leica Fotos App for street photography. I’m not an in-your-face kind of shooter and the Fotos App allows me to use my iPhone as a remote control trigger and get right up in the action, all the while everyone around me thinks I’m just dumb millennial scrolling through my phone.

The carrying strap that changed my life…

The Arte di Mano Comodo neck strap. I have a nearly-decade old Rally Volpe Comodo strap that’s carried many cameras for me, from my M9 to my Q (Typ 116) and now my M10 Monochrom. The cameras have changed, but the strap has stayed the same. It’s strong yet flexible and I can wrap it around my wrist and use it as a hand strap. And there’s something just so classy about that worn-in vintage leather.
