When the Leica Q3 43 was initially released, its included lens hood could not be used when a filter was attached to the lens. Leica has since redesigned the hood, allowing it to function perfectly with or without a filter installed.

The revised hood is slightly longer than the original, measuring approximately 16mm in depth compared to 13.5mm. In our opinion, this minor increase in size is well worth the benefits.

Please note that this updated hood is not compatible with the current Otect Q-Cap for the Leica Q3 43.

Leica has not confirmed exactly when this revised hood began shipping with new Leica Q3 43 cameras. To ensure compatibility with filters, however, this updated hood is now available for purchase separately.
