The Leica Pradovit RT-s represents the pinnacle of Leica's professional 35mm slide projectors. Introduced in the late 1990s, the RT series was designed for demanding professional presentations and serious projection installations, combining Leica optics with an exceptionally robust and sophisticated projector platform.

The RT-s features microprocessor-controlled operation, precision stepping motors, autofocus with manual override, direct slide selection with the optional infrared remote control, an automatic shutter, programmable projection times, and a reduced-light setting for presentations. Slide changes take just 0.88 seconds, and the projector accepts round trays holding either 80 or 140 slides.

The illumination system is built around a powerful 82V/300W halogen lamp module with an integrated automatic bulb changer. Two lamps are installed, allowing the projector to automatically switch to the backup lamp if the primary bulb fails. Leica also designed the optical system with a multi-coated condenser and heat filter to keep temperatures at the slide gate low.

What really sets this example apart is the Leica Vario-Elmarit-PRO 70-120mm f/2.8 projection lens. Designed specifically for the Pradovit RT system, this large, constant-aperture zoom allows the projected image size to be adjusted for different screens and projection distances without physically repositioning the projector.

Built for an era when projecting transparencies was a serious professional endeavor, the Pradovit RT-s is an absolute tank of a projector and a spectacular way to experience 35mm slides. Paired with the Vario-Elmarit-PRO 70-120mm f/2.8, this is about as serious as analog Leica projection gets.
